UNVEILING THE FUTURE OF TELECOM: KEY HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE RIBBON PARTNER SUMMIT 2023

written by Roan Pratt

Lisbon played host to the annual Ribbon Partner Summit on 13/14th September which brought together experts from carriers, distributors and partners from across Europe.

The gathering was more than just a conference; it was a platform for sharing valuable insights, discussing groundbreaking developments and charting the future of the telecom industry.

The telecommunications industry is in the midst of an exciting transformation, with innovation and technical advancement shaping the way businesses operate.  The Partner Summit allowed Ribbon to showcase how they are helping customers to embrace the change and I wanted to share the highlights that for me, made the event so exceptional:

  1. Ribbon Analytics:  Fraud Management and Network Visibility

One of the key takeaways from the event was the importance of proactive fraud management and full network visibility monitoring. Ribbon Analytics, a cutting-edge solution, was at the forefront of discussions. With customer dashboards and portals, it empowers telecom professionals to react swiftly to potential threats and proactively manage network operations. This technology is poised to revolutionize the way we combat fraud and optimize network performance.

  1. Edgemark8000: An All-in-One Solution for Connectivity

Another exciting announcement was the launch of Edgemark 8000. This all-in-one solution is set to be a game-changer for partners and end users who demand comprehensive connectivity solutions. Edgemark 8000 promises to simplify the telecom landscape by offering a versatile platform that encompasses various connectivity needs, making it easier than ever for businesses to stay connected and agile.

  1. Migration Management for the Mid-market

With the looming ISDN sunset, migration management is becoming a top priority for the telecom industry. The Partner Summit provided invaluable insights into how Session Border Controllers (SBCs) can be deployed as gateways to extend the life of legacy technology and allow customers to migrate at a pace that suits them.  It became clear that the range of professional services we offer at Techland can play a vital role in this area to facilitate a smooth transition. These strategies are critical for the mid-market segment, ensuring that businesses can seamlessly adapt to evolving technology while minimizing disruptions.

  1. AI Integration Across Platforms

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to reshape the telecom landscape, and the buzz around this subject highlighted the industry’s keen interest in embracing this transformative technology. All major platforms are gearing up to incorporate AI as part of their standard offerings in the coming years. This emphasis on AI is not just a trend; it’s a strategic move to enhance services, optimize network performance, and cater to specific vertical markets with tailored solutions.

Conclusion

The event in Lisbon was a testament to Ribbon’s commitment to innovation and adaptation in the face of evolving challenges. With groundbreaking solutions like Ribbon Analytics, Edgemark 8000, and a renewed focus on AI integration, carriers, experts, distributors, and partners are poised to drive the industry forward.

As the telecom landscape continues to evolve, it’s clear that these developments will play a pivotal role in shaping the future. Stay tuned for more updates and insights as we witness the telecom industry’s remarkable journey into an era of enhanced connectivity, security, and efficiency. The Lisbon event was just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting and transformative journey for the telecom industry in Europe and beyond.
